MAN: A metropolitan area network that connects computers and other devices in a geographical area or region larger then local area network but smaller than the area of wide area network typically a MAN covers the area of a city or multiple cities. WAN: A wide area network connects computers and other devices in large geographical area or region which is beyond limit. A WAN typically connects several LAN and MAN and builds a huge network. Computer connected to a WAN usually connects via public network. The largest WAN exists is the internet.
Range is up to 100km-1000km radius
SAN: A Storage Area Network is a high speed network of storage devices usually connected by several servers. This types of network does not depends on LAN or WAN.
VPN: A virtual private network is an encrypted connection over the Internet from a device to a network. The encrypted connection helps ensure that sensitive data is safely transmitted. It prevents unauthorized people from spying on the traffic and allows the user to conduct work remotely. VPN technology is widely used in corporate environments.
